TreatmentUSA.com was started based on the experience of the founder, who struggled with addiction and alcoholism for many years.  After 13 years of using drugs and alcohol, it came down to the last eight days of misery.  This is where he found himself isolating in his bedroom for hours on end, desperate and looking for a way out.  Loss of job, loss of family relationships, loss of friends - all to the disease of addiction. 

With nothing left and no where to turn, he found himself turning to his computer for help.  Surely with the internet he would be able to find the detox or treatment that he needed.  Oddly enough, he was only able to find individual websites for drug treatment facilities.  From there he would call their toll-free number and complete an assessment with them - only to find out that they were unable to help him.  Then he would get back online and find the next treatment center and go through the whole thing again. 

It wasn't until eight days later that he had called his 143rd drug treatment centers that he found the help that he needed.  This was a miracle of sorts.  Most people with the disease of addiction could not possibly sustain through 8 days of this miserable search.  And some would die if it took that long.  Something had to be done.
